Billy Roy Howard, 57 of Taylorsville, passed away Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was born March 19, 1963 in Smith county, the middle of three children to Billy Ray Howard and Betty Jean Poole. Growing up in the Taylorsville area, Billy came to love most everything outdoors. Hunting, fishing and camping were among his favorite things to do, along with riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles. Billy moved to Michigan early on and lived there for several years, where he was married and started his family. When his girls came along, he "grew up" as they say and truly became a father. He quit smoking, put away any other "bad" habits to boot and focused his efforts on raising and providing for them. Billy moved back to South MS following Hurricane Katrina and had been in the area since. He still loved the outdoors and riding his Harley all over the country, which he did as often as possible. Billy is remembered as a loving father who was polite and respectful, teaching his girls to be as well. His infectious smile and memorable laugh were the kind that brightened up the room as soon as he walked in. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Billy was preceded by his father, Billy Ray Howard, and both of his siblings, sister Mary Lee Rogers and brother Bobby Ray Howard. Left to cherish his memories are: his four daughters - LaTangela Reeder of MI, LaTasha and LaKisha Howard, both of Laurel, and Breanna Howard, also of MI. Billy leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends through the years. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with a memorial service and celebration of his life to be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Howard family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
