Betty Dianne Jordan Thompson, known to her friends and family as Dianne, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023, in Gulfport, MS. Born on October 4, 1952, in Poplarville, MS, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Paul Jordan Sr. and Mildred Lee Smith. Dianne was a devout Christian who found great joy in reading the Bible and attending church services. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived out her beliefs through her actions. She was known for her generosity and selflessness, always putting others before herself. If Dianne was aware of a need, she would do her best to help, whether it was through her time, resources, or simply a listening ear. In addition to her strong faith, Dianne had a passion for cooking and painting. She loved to create delicious meals for her family and friends, and her artistic talents were evident in her beautiful paintings. Her creativity and love for others were also evident in her dedication to visiting shut-ins, bringing them comfort and companionship. Dianne was an energetic and sociable person who could make friends in any situation. She had a gift for making others feel at ease and welcome, and her warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Paul Jordan Sr., and Mildred Lee Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Paulette (Kenneth III) Buley; brother, John Paul Jordan Jr; and brother-in-law, Otis Andrews Jr. Dianne is survived by her loving family, who will cherish her memory and continue to honor her legacy; daughter, Peggy (Donald Jr) Nagy; son, Charles (Amber Krentz) Thompson; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Rosi) Nagy, Tyler Nagy, Alex, Tori, Gabby, Max, Elijah, Robert, and Logan Thompson; siblings, Ethel Andrews and Billy (Edith) Jordan; very special cousins, James Jordan and Barbara Miller; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a very special church family at Steep Hollow Baptist Church. As we remember Dianne, let us celebrate her life and the positive impact she had on those around her. Her generosity, selflessness, and faith-filled spirit will be truly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Services for Ms. Dianne will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00am, at Steep Hollow Baptist Church (2336 MS-53, Poplarville, MS 39470).
