Aubrey Hascal Williams, 90, of the Riceville community passed away Monday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Williams was always known as Hascal or “Hack” as many lovingly called him. Since 1953, Hascal was a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters local union 568. Mr. Hascal was an avid fisherman who spent as much time as possible with a hook in the water when he was not working, farming, gardening, and helping anyone in need. He will be lovingly missed by all who knew him for his good heart. We will miss his smile, his huge heart, his stories, his sense of humor, and his patience with everything. He never met a stranger and was loved and well-respected by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father Evan Williams and step-mother Lucille Williams, his mother Vivian Williams Parish and step-father Hugh Parish. He was the second of five siblings and preceded in death by his brother Hershel Williams and wife Betty Williams, brother Foy Ray Williams and wife Opal, Sister Annie Laurie Harrell and husband C. J. Harriel, and half-sister Jo Ann Townsend and Son-in-law Charles Yates.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 70 years, Willie Faye Breland Williams, five daughters Donnis Yates, Deborah Mann (Louis), Demple Gavin (Mike), Vickie Gremillion (Jerry), Audrey Boutwell (Tommy), and a grandson they raised as their own, Billy Keene. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
We want to say a special Thank You to all of the family who helped take care of our Dad for the last 14 months: daughters, grandsons, granddaughters. Daddy was very appreciative for everyone helping out. His favorite meals in his final days included hushpuppies and Barq’s Root Beer. We would also like to say a very special thank you to Dr. Paul Mathern for all the wonderful professional care and help when we needed it. Thanks to Notre Dame Hospice Care, especially Ms. Christine, Stephanie, Joan Marie, and Gayle for their compassion and the wonderful care they took of our Dad.
Funeral services are set for Sunday, May 2nd at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation begins at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:30. Afterward Hascal will be laid to rest in the Persimmon Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Williams family and walk with them through this difficult time. Please keep Ms. Willie Faye and her family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
