Ashlye Ann Cuevas, 35, went home to heaven Wednesday morning, May 03, 2023 in Wiggins. She was born September 08, 1987 in Gulfport, the only daughter of Terry Glen and Leslye Ann (Powell) Cuevas. Ashlye came into this world smiling and did so most every day of her life. She grew up and lived in the Magnolia community of Stone county where just about everybody knew and loved her. She enjoyed her coloring books, animals, and just being the happy, care-free young lady that brightened everyone's day. Ashlye was blessed with a caring heart, for people and animals as well. She loved to go shopping and always had a flair for her "bling-bling". Family time was something she looked forward to, and of course talking to her boyfriend and "Honey Feller", Garrison Thompkins and close friends on the telephone. To say she was our special daughter is leaving so much out. Ashlye was so smart, organized, and was gifted by God in a special way to be able to help others, especially those struggling with Alzheimers. She could communicate with and get them to do things when others could not. There was just a special "bond" between them that was truly amazing. Ashlye always saw the good in everyone, never having a cross word about anyone, for any reason. She absolutely loved the Lord, her church family, praying, signing, and just living life. A romantic at heart, she enjoyed doing special things for her parents and friends, like knitting hats for baby's born in the family and others. She had made over 400 for disaster victims, which was a display of her tenderness and caring heart. Now she enjoyed going to Bass Pro Shop, and of course stopping for a bite to eat at Berry's in Florence. A special blessing to all whose life she touched for thirty-five years, Ashlye is with the Lord today, eagerly awaiting her family and friends to join her. She will definitely be missed beyond measure until that time. Ashlye was preceded by her grandparents, Crayton and Sarah Cuevas, Patsy (Jack) Davis, and Bennis Powell, Sr. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving parents, Terry and Leslye Cuevas; her siblings, Chris Cuevas, Stacey Cuevas, and Jeremy Cuevas; her great uncle, Jack (Pat) Bates, and her 'special grandmother', Mary Bruno. There are so many family members that were "close" to her that it would be impossible to list them all, but they all know how much Ashlye loved them. Funeral services are set for Saturday, May 6th at Maranatha Baptist Church, where Ashley was a life-long member. Visitation will begin at 12:00, followed by the funeral service at 2:00, with Pastor Joe Beall officiating. Afterward she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cuevas family in their time of need and asks everyone to remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
