Arthur Glen Killian Jr., affectionately known as Ben to his friends and loved ones, returned to the stars on April 20, 2025, at the age of 76, in Gulfport, Mississippi. A native of Gladwin, Michigan, born on April 15, 1949, he was the beacon of joy in his family and among his acquaintances. Ben's journey through life was marked by love, service, and a remarkable knack for bringing warmth to the heart of every person he met. He proudly served in the Air Force, stationing in Anchorage, Alaska, and St. Angelo, Texas, which fortified his love for the outdoors and contributed to a life of discipline and integrity. Beyond his military service, Ben brought precision and care to his work as a title abstractor, traits that were undoubtedly honed during his collegiate years, having achieved his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University after graduating from the Beaverton High class of '67. With a personality as vibrant as his, family was the cornerstone of Ben's life. Ben's passion for life extended into every corner of his existence. A man of many interests, he had a profound love for numbers and human connection. His hands crafted award-winning ceramic art, and his spirit was most content amidst the tranquility of gardens or the joyful chaos of playing with his dogs and grandkids. He loved photography and taking pictures in nature. An avid outdoorsman, he relished each opportunity to hike with loved ones, always in pursuit of the next waterfall to witness on Michigan's verdant trails. Indoors, he played board games with a competitive yet kindly spirit and could engage anyone in hearty conversation. In the Killian household, Ben was recognized as the undisputed culinary king, as long as he was spared the dish duty. As we bid farewell, we celebrate a man whose life was a testament to joy, dedication, and genuine connection with the world and the people around him. Ben's light continues to shine brightly in the memories of those he touched and the lives he shaped. He is preceded his siblings, Mary Wyson and Robert Killian. Ben is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nikki Killian, who together, they built a universe of love and laughter; his children, Nickolas Killian and Rebecca Killian; his cherished grandchildren, Dacota Chester and Zachary Bliss; and his adored great-grandson, Olyver Chester. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Killian family in their time of need and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
