Arthur Wayne Campbell, 83 of Saucier, MS, passed away on October 22, 2019 at his home. Art was born in Shoal Creek, NC to Andy Corbin and Nora (Graham) Campbell on March 9, 1936. He went to school in Blue Ridge, GA. He married Lattie Ann Woody on April 9, 1955 in McCaysville, GA until her death on August 8, 2003. Married to Sandra Lea Lane on January 15, 2006. Art worked as a taxi driver, bread truck deliverer, sawmill worker, carnival foods, diner cook, soldier and photographer. He served in the US Army for 28 years and was awarded many medals, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart as a veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf wars. Art was an avid treasure hunter and whether panning for gold, metal detecting or slots, he loved to be out looking for his next find. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Art is preceded in death by his parents Andy and Nora Campbell, sisters, Janice Campbell, Arzela Herndon and Pearl Wilder; brothers J.E. Campbell, Poley Gordon Campbell, Leffel Campbell, W. C. Campbell and Ralph Campbell. Art is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; children Mark Campbell, Pamela (Mark) Jones and Jeffery Campbell, stepchildren Tomika Lane, Christopher (Lillian) Abbott and Joseph Lavergne, adopted children Richard Quintana-Campbell and Reagan Quintana-Campbell, with 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family, neighbors and friends. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Robinwood Baptist Church, Keesler AFB 81st Medical Group, Deaconess Home Health, VA Medical Center, Uplift Home Health and Southern Care Hospice, as well as family, friends and neighbors. Art’s final wish was that his body be donated to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. His family honored his wishes, and will set a Celebration of Life at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Campbell family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in their prayers during this trying time.
