Albert L. Roland, (76) resident of Jackson, MS passed away on June 24, 2020 at Brandon Nursing Home & Rehab. Interment services will be held on July 17, 2020 at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. Albert was retired from Continental Trailways as ticket agent. He was avid Ole Miss fan who enjoyed watching football and was also co-owner of “Fat Albert’s” bar & grill stand at the MS State Fair for numerous years. He was retired from US Army & MS National Guard and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He is preceded in death by his parents: L.K. Roland & Mattie Roland (Jackson, MS); brother Gene Roland (Abilene, Texas); sisters Bobbie Nickens (Jackson, MS) & Judy Youngblood (Ridgeland, MS) He is survived by sister Nita Newman (Palatine, Ill.) He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews. Special thanks to Anita Bonds & James Adams at Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care for their love and compassion in taking care of Albert. We are greatly appreciative for everything you did.
