Wilton Kelvin Burge, age 68, of Kiln, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, Louisiana. Known lovingly as Kelvin throughout his life, he was born on June 12, 1958, in Poplarville, Mississippi, to William Claiborne and Norma Jean Burge. He grew up in Hancock County, where he developed a love for the outdoors and enjoyed cheering on local sports teams. In his later years, nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren play sports and celebrating their accomplishments. Kelvin dedicated more than 30 years of faithful service to Hancock County as a Soil and Water Conservation Technician before retiring. Through his years of service, he made a lasting contribution to the community he proudly called home. Above all, Kelvin had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith is a source of comfort to his family, who find peace in knowing that he is now forever healed and resting in the loving arms of Jesus. Kelvin was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. Burge and Norma Burge Hester, and his sister, Leticia Jean Dedeaux. Those left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy include his three sons, Kelvin “Glen” Burge, Jason Burge, and Trevin (Dana) Burge; his brother, Robbie Kent Burge; and his five beloved grandchildren, Kaejiah Burge, Abby Burge, Amelia Burge, Harrison Burge, and Sophie Burge. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives he touched.
A graveside service celebrating Kelvin’s life will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Necaise Crossing Cemetery.
Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Burge family during this difficult time. We ask that you keep Kelvin’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead, offering them comfort and strength as they celebrate his life and cherish the memories he leaves behind.
