Wilson Gerald Wilkerson passed away November 5th, 2022. Mr. Wilkerson was born to Auden and Woodrow Wilson on May 17th, 1941. Wilson was raised in the Union community, until his family moved to Meridian in 1969. As a kid he would spend summer days fishing out of ponds enjoying the great outdoors and was known to be a jokester. November of 1965 Mr. Wilson joined the United States Army where he was an Armorer. After his service he would go on to meet the love of his life, Mary Weaver, who he married in June of 1966. Together they moved to the Hattiesburg community in 1970, settling in Sumrall in 1980. This being where they would make a life for themselves loving family, especially those grandbabies. Wilson is preceded by his parents Woodrow and Audene Wilkerson; brothers Victor, Kennett, and Billy Ray Wilkerson; Son-in-law Lenny Reid; Grandson Clint Reid; Nephews Morris Wilkerson and Greg Olstad; Neice Brandy Palmer and her son Wit. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years Mary M. Wilkerson; Sister Elizabeth Gorey; Son Billy (Barbra) Moorehead; Daughter Sandra Reid; Grandchildren Chris (Christy) Moorehead, Kaci (Justin) Martin; Great grandchildren Price Moorehead, Wyatt Moorehead, Paisley Martin, and Brexley Martin.
