Willie John Cooper

Willie John Cooper, 65 of Biloxi, passed away February 20, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 24, 1956 in Purvis, MS, the baby of five children to Alvin Willie and Ethel (Martin) Cooper. Willie grew up in Purvis where he was a typical South MS country boy. He loved the outdoors and fixing things. Willie attended Lamar county schools and worked most of his career around the recycling industry. He spent many years at Shempers in Hattiesburg, and six years at Goldin in Gulfport. He is remembered as a great guy with a heart of gold. There was nothing he wouldn't do for most anybody. In his spare time, he enjoyed a good nap, and if he could find one, and old black and white movie. Willie preferred the music, movies, and television shows from the earlier era when he grew up. A loving brother, uncle, and trusted friend, Willie will be fondly remembered and sadsly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his parents, Alvin and Ethel Cooper; his brothers Sherwin and Zeke Cooper, and his infant sister; and a nephew, Tiger Lovett. Left to cherish his memories are: his brother, Baily Cooper, Sr. of Petal, his nieces, Byitha (Bill) Lovett of Biloxi, Patricia Lovett of the Kiln, and Jeannie Cooper of Necaise; his nephews Alvin (Lynette) Cooper and Zeke Cooper (Tina Gregory), both of Pass Christian, Shelby (Angela) Cooper of Picayune, and Michael Cooper of Carriere, along with a host of extended family and friends. Services are set for Wednesday, February 23rd at Trinity Funeral Services in Lumberton. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11:00. Afterward, Willie will be laid to rest beside his brother in the Lee Cemetery in Purvis.
