Mr. William Jay Sencial, 66 of Wiggins, passed away May 14th at his home surrounded by family. He was born Feb. 1, 1953 in New Orleans, the youngest of four children to John E. & Otilia (Guerrero) Sencial. He grew up in the Crescent City, graduating from Bro. Martin High School, a member of the Class of '71. While there, he was active with the US Navy ROTC. Bill, as he was known by most, was an avid sports enthusiast from the very beginning. He loved to play baseball, and intently watched all sports. In addition, he enjoyed fishing, golf, and was heavily involved in fantasy football. Following high school, Bill attended LSU New Orleans, and made a career in management. He worked for Goodyear and Firestone for several years, and later for a dairy distribution company. Among his hobbies were comic books, baseball cards, movies, and woodworking. Over the years, Bill made many birdhouses, paying close attention to detail in his creations. He is remembered as a loving, patient, very helpful brother and father, with a great sense of humor. Assertive but supportive as well, he will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Bill was preceded by his parents, John E. & Otilia Sencial, and his sister, Linda Paul. Left to cherish his memories are: his two sons, Jason and Steven Sencial, both of Metairie; his sister, Ruth Luther of Wiggins, and his brother, John (Becky) Sencial of LA; one grandson, Miles, nephews Jack and Brad Manis, along with many other nieces, nephews, and numerous friends thru the years. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Sencial family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers over this difficult time.
