Ms. Virginia Sue (Hatfield) Hinckley, 72 of Florence, passed away Saturday evening at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Born in Virginia on May 5, 1946, she grew up in the Laurel area of South MS. She was a loveable, outgoing lady who loved to help others. Virginia obtained her Masters in education from USM, and made her career as a teacher in the public school system. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and cooking, and loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandkids. She will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia was preceded by her parents, Ralph & Mae Hatfield, and a brother, Jimmy Gertz. She is survived by: her sons, Mari Hinckley of Huntsville, AL, and Michael Hinckley (Brandi Fitzgerald) of Florence, and a daughter, Amber William of Ft. Walton, FL; one brother, Robert (Vicki) Hatfield of Laurel, and three grandchildren: Coby Hinckley, Kristabelle Hinckley-Bates, and Devin Williams, along with several extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
