Later, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her BSN-RN degree and began working as an RN at Forrest General Hospital. She loved nursing, and would eventually become the Cardiovascular Unit Coordinator, where she worked until she retired. A woman at heart, Ginger also enjoyed working with her hands and being outdoors, doing such things as yard work, arts & crafts, making crosses, and taking care of her animals. She was very active with the Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E. #599 in Hattiesburg, where she was involved in numerous activities, especially the Veterans Affairs program. She served on the Perry Co. Election Commission, and was the chair of the Perry Co. Chamber of Commerce. Ginger was a very active member of Hickory Grove Church, where she loved to sing, serve as a trustee, and handled the bush-hogging duties. She was a member of the National Association of Professional Women, which named her Woman of the Year for 2012-2013. Ginger Hale was a vibrant soul that was so active in the community and beyond, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
