Vernon Dean Duvall, 53 of St. Martin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10th in Ocean Springs. Vernon was born August 21, 1964 in Biloxi, and is the oldest of 2 sons of Roy E. Sr. & Agnes Tanner. He grew up in Vancleave, and enjoyed the normal things most boys do, fishing and hunting. But his true passion in life was working on small engines, such as lawn mowers, weedeaters, and chain saws. He spent lots of time at a neighbors house as a young boy, watching and learning, and quickly became one of the best small engine mechanics around. There wasn't many in his career that he failed to repair, and if he did, it wasn't repairable anyway. Vernon is remembered as a private but humble man who was both willing and eager to help friends and neighbors. If you earned his friendship, you had a true friend. He was a momma's boy that looked after her needs as well, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Vernon is survived by his fiancé, Debbie Moore of St, Martin; his mother, Agnes S. Tanner of Vancleave; his only brother, Roy E. (Tina) Tanner, Jr. of Madison, OH; a couple of nieces and nephews, his best friend Campy Mathieu, and his only "child", a schnauzer named Coco that he loved dearly. He was preceded by his father, Roy E. Tanner, Sr; grandparents Roosevelt & Ada Tanner and Tony & Mary Jane Shoemaker. Vernon's wishes was to be cremated without any fanfare, which his family and loved ones are honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Duvall family, and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during such a difficult time.
