Tonja S. Gill

Tonja S. Gill, affectionately known as Tonja, graced this world with her creativity and courage from her birth on August 3, 1955, in Gulfport, MS, until her peaceful passing on July 2, 2024, in McHenry, MS. A proud graduate of Gulfport High School, Tonja carried the lessons of her youth throughout her life, constantly creating and inspiring those around her with her renowned baking skills and artistic talents. An embodiment of the festive spirit of Mardi Gras, Tonja took immense joy in making elaborate costumes, owning a float, and sharing the thrill of parades with those around her. Cruising the Coast in her 1955 Bel Air was more than a hobby; it was a cherished tradition where she felt truly free and alive. Tonja's life was a testament to thoughtfulness, creativity, and courage. Her unwavering strength and boundless imagination touched all facets of her life, from her incredible arts and crafts to the moments she shared with her loved ones. Tonja will be dearly remembered as a guiding light—a powerful force of inspiration, warmth, and love that will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Loraine S. and Homer Stewart, her cherished husband, Floyd "Bubba" Gill, her daughter Tahaira Anderson, and her brother in law Steve Enroth. Tonja is survived by her devoted children, her son Kyle and his wife Charli; siblings Kim and spouse Janice, Sheila and her spouse Glen, Rubert Stewart, Charnyse and her spouse Kerry, Nyla Enroth, and Rene Dupont and her spouse Kenneth. Tonja was a proud grandmother to Ryan Gill and his spouse Katelyn, Nathaniel Gill, Dakota Anderson, Montana Anderson, and Amber Anderson, and a great-grandmother to Ryleigh and Levi Gill. She also held a special place in the hearts of countless nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
