Tommy Joe Jackson, Jr.

Tommy Joe Jakson, Jr., 55 of Perkinston, passed away December 05 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. He was born on July 26, 1968 in New Orleans, the oldest of three children to parents Tommy, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Woods) Jackson. He grew up in Gulfport where he came to enjoy the outdoors. Fishing with his grandfather, or hunting and fishing with his father and brother, were his primary passions. Not much else interested him, so he spent lots of time in the woods or on the water. Tommy attended Gulfport schools, graduating with the Admiral Class of 1986, and went to work for the Port of Gulfport where he remained until medical issues forced his retirement. When he wasn't working, you could usually find him hunting deer or chasing mullett or specs. He will be remembered as a caring person who tried to help others as much as possible. Tommy will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his father, Tommy Jackson, Sr. and his grandparents, Thomas and Alma Jackson. Tommy is survived by: his long-time fiance Vicky Osburn; his two sons, Tommy, III (Holly) Jackson of Vancleave, and Austin Jackson of Perkinston; his loving mother, Barbara (Pete) Jackson, also of Perkinston; his brother Gene Jackson of Saucier, and his sister Samantha (David) Riley of Perkinston. Tommy leaves a legacy four grandchildren: Holt, Emmett, Bentley, and Rowan Jackson, along with numerous extended family and friends. Tommy's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. He will be laid to rest beside his father in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens at a later date.
