Mr. Thomas Paul "Tom" Harmon, 64 of Gainesville, GA, passed away at NE Georgia Medical Center on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Tom had fought a lengthy battle with infections, and is at peace today. Tom was an active participant at Gainesville Family Bowl, where he participated in various leagues, and enjoyed the fellowship there. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Tom is survived by his children, one daughter, Makayla Hamilton (Bobby) of Dalonega, GA, and one son, Thomas Paul Harmon, II, of Olney, IL; his mother, Geraldine "Beeka" Norman of Old Lyme, CT; 4 siblings, brothers James Harmon (Dyann) of Wiggins, MS, Ken Harmon (Dee) of Middletown, CT, and John Harmon (Elaine) of Perkinston, MS; and one sister, Diane Gerhart (Andrew) of East Haddam, CT; and 3 grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Colorado Bruce, Ocean Ervin, and Tara Ervin. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Harmon, and one brother, Murl Harmon. A memorial service is being scheduled for Tom in Gainesville, GA on Friday, July 1st, at Wind Cliff Apartments where he lived, located at 906 Gabriele Circle. The memorial is set for 10 AM in the dining hall of the complex. Friends and acquaintances are welcome and encouraged to come celebrate his life. Tom's wishes were to be cremated, which the family will honor, and his cremains will be transferred back to McHenry. Tom had a fondness for South MS, and lived here in McHenry for a few years. He was a Christian, and member of McHenry First Baptist Church. A funeral service for Tom will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in the sanctuary of Tuxechena Baptist Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Harmon family in their time of need.
