Terrance Loren Edward LaVergne, better known to those who really knew him as "Bear", died unexpectedly in Thorndyke Bay, WA on February 18th. He was born the 1st of 3 children to Dawn & Kevin Billingsley in McHenry, IL on March 13, 1989. He would grow up between there and McHenry, MS, and truly loved the outdoors from an early age. Fishing quickly became his favorite hobby. He attended and graduated from Stone High School, a member of the Class of 2008, and continued his education, obtaining certification as a massage therapist. He would return to Illinois, but eventually went to work for A.C.E. doing outdoor work rebuilding ecosystems in AZ, OK, CO, and other areas in the Western US. Bear got an opportunity to do what he loved most for a living, and went to work for Bay Water Shellfish as a commercial fisherman. He is remembered as a loving son, a person who was always happy, and looking for a way to prank you. A magnetic personality, Bear was strong in his convictions, and loved life. He will be very sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his grandparents, Cheri LaVergne, Wayne Mandel, and Willa Billingsley. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Dawn & Kevin Billingsley; one sister, Melinda Bowden of McHenry, MS, and one brother, Jarren (Kelsey) Billingsley of Goldsborough, NC; grandparents Butch Billingsley of Gulfport, and Terry LaVergne of FL; one aunt, April Butler of IL, and an uncle, Skip (Tracie) Mandel of McHenry, MS; a niece, Karley Billingsley, and a soon-to-arrive niece, Lauren Estelle Bowden. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family locally in this difficult situation. His wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, and a memorial service will be planned for a later date. Please keep Dawn, Kevin, and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
