Tammy Kaye Saul, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away at home in Sumrall, Mississippi, on October 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 14, 1959, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and will be remembered as a woman of deep faith, fierce love, and unmistakable spirit.
Tammy was completely devoted to serving the Lord, and that devotion shaped the way she lived and loved. She loved the Lord dearly, and she loved her family with the same wholehearted strength. Her grandbabies held a special place in her heart, and one of the greatest accomplishments of her life was the family she raised and cherished, along with the love that remained at the center of both her marriage and her home.
She was a woman with a sassy personality who spoke her mind. If Tammy thought it, she said it, and those who knew her loved that honesty in her. She brought life and color wherever she went, always busy with something new. She had many hobbies over the years and was known for picking up whatever interested her at the moment, always doing something different every time you saw her. She also cared deeply for her animals, giving them the same steady affection and attention that she gave so freely to those around her.
Some of the sweetest memories her family will carry forward are times spent together including the fishing trips they shared together on the boat, especially the laughter and fun of doing “loop di loo’s.” Those moments captured so much of who Tammy was: joyful, present, loving, and fully engaged with the people she held dear.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Saul, her beloved partner of 50 years. Her brothers Steve and Donald Bounds. She also leaves behind her children: Allen Saul and his wife, Georgana; Adam Saul and his fiancée, Christy; Joanie Johnson and her husband, Joey; and Julia Saucier and her husband, James. Tammy’s love also lives on in her grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson and Dwayne, Robin Brown and her husband, Leroy, Angel Saul and her fiancée, Mathew, Nathaniel Saucier, Clowey Saul and her fiancée, Aaron, Clara Saul, Haley Saul, Zachary Saucier, Shane Saul, Courtney Saul, Bella Reid, and Wyatt Holt. She was further blessed by her great-grandchildren, Izzy Johnson, Everleigh Brown, Alayna Magee, Ava Brown, Aspyn Magee, Timothy Magee, and John Luke Magee. Each of them was part of the family she was so proud of, and each carries forward the love she poured into their lives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Liston Bounds and her mother, Helen Bounds; her brothers, Alton Bounds, Dalton Bounds, Doyle Bounds, and Ronnie Bounds; and her sister, Ellen Bedwell. Their memories remained with her throughout her life and were part of the family story she treasured.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Pine Hill Baptist Church, 30 Pine Hill Road, Sumrall, Mississippi 39482, on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
