Tahaira Danee (Gill) Anderson

Tahaira Danee Gill-Anderson, 45 and originally of Gulfport, passed away December 05, 2021 at Memorial Hospital of Stone County. Tahaira was born on March 06, 1976 in Gulfport, one of two children and daughter of Floyd Burton and Tonja Stewart Gill. She grew up in Gulfport and was spoiled from the word go, as her aunts would take turns with her. They loved her and she loved them taking her wherever she wanted. She played softball in recreation leagues, and if the opportunity arose, she was known mix it up with whomever crossed her or her cousins. Known as "TT" by those who knew her best, she was a proud big sister. She loved fancy dresses and her aunts made sure she had an ample supply of them. She attended Gulfport Schools, completing her academic pursuits at Harrison Central before obtaining her GED and continuing to MGCCC Perkinston where she studied business. A President's List student several times, she was one class short of her degree. In 1995, Tahaira met Jeff through some mutual friends. The rest, as they say, is history. They dated and were married in September of 1996, making their home in Gulfport. She is fondly remembered as an outgoing, loving wife and mother with a great sense of humor. Tahaira loved Mardi Gras, Cruzin' the Coast and vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains. She loved to cook and bake, enjoying nothing more than feeding a large group of family and friends. She didn't have a specialty per se, but her "Sin" dessert seemed to be the odds on favorite. Tahaira loved animals and taking care of her family, doing her best to make sure they were well fed and cared for. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her father, Floyd "Bubba" Gill. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband of 25 years, Jeff "Bubba" Anderson; their children: sons Dakota Anderson of Mandeville, LA and Montanna Anderson of McHenry; her sister Amber Anderson and her loving mother, Tonja Gill, both of McHenry; her little brother Kyle (Charli) Gill of Saucier, with nephews Ryan and Nate. Tahaira leaves a host of aunts, uncles, extended family and friends. Services are set for Friday, December 10th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 12:00 PM with Bro. Wayne Flurry officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Steep Hollow, where she will be laid to rest beside her father.
