Steven Coy Jones, a longtime resident of Lumberton, Mississippi, passed away on May 18, 2025, in New Orleans at the age of 67. Born in Carriere on November 14, 1957. Known for his warm personality and entrepreneurial spirit, he was an accomplished brick masonry who carried his strong work ethic throughout his life, from his early days assisting Mr. Lance Cuevas in frying fish to the hard-earned weekends racing his beloved car, "Happy Humper." Coy had a passion for the outdoors, reveling in the simple pleasures of barbecues and fishing. His green thumb was evident in his beautiful garden, where he tenderly raised flowers, trees, and vegetables. The joy of nurturing life extended to his cherished 14 goats and his fur baby, JoJo. Renowned for his graciousness, Coy never met a stranger and was adored as a loving uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded by his parents, Roy McWilly Jones and Mamie Jones; siblings, Ann Laurie (Ted) Whitfield, Roy Earl (Judy) Jones, and infant brother Lloyd McWilly Jones. Left to cherish his memories are his brother, William Doyle Jones, Floyd Jones Sr. nephews, Floyd (Tracie) Jones, Jr., Roy (Brandi) Jones; Niece, Melissa Wood; numerous great nieces and nephews; friend and caregiver, Carolyn Dian Lott; and many lifelong close friends.
