Stephanie Patrice McCraw, 49 of Gulfport, went home to heaven Wednesday, June 10th at Canon Hospice. Though she leaves this life far too soon, her life and legacy will forever be cherished by those who truly knew her. She was born May 20, 1971 in Lucedale, the third of five and daughter of Stanley Shows and Jeanette Breland Desporte. She grew up in the rural community of Agricola where she loved the outdoors, playing with her siblings and cooking. Patrice was always smiling and laughing. She was the lighthearted sister who was outgoing and silly in her ways. She played basketball in Jr. High. Growing up on a small farm in the country, she had a love for animals, always caring and compassionate towards them. In her life, Patrice had a heart for children. She was always involved with children in some way because loved being around and caring for kids. She worked in childcare, taught pre-school at Cedar Lake Christian Academy and even served as a nanny. Patrice opened and ran "Lil Sprouts" daycare for a few years as well. Her love for children never ended. She was a Christian and member at Northwood Christian Church in Gulfport, where she met Mark McCraw, a guy that had recently began attending there. They developed a friendship that turned to a loving relationship and marriage of over 20 years. He recalls her as "the most patient, compassionate, loving, kind, caring woman ever." There really aren't enough words to provide an accurate description. She will be truly missed beyond measure. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Mark McCraw; a daughter Savanna of Biloxi and son Gray of Gulfport; her mother Jeanette Desporte of Biloxi and father Stanley Shows of Agricola; sisters Lisa (Todd) Taylor of Perry, FL. and Kelly Grigsby of Biloxi, with brothers John (Shelby) Shows of Claremore, OK with Chris (Brittany) Shows of Vancleave, along with numerous extended family members, her church family and more friends that one could count. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her loving family is honoring. A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, June 13th 2020, 10:00 AM at 201 Albert Cuave Road in Perkinston. All who knew and loved her are encouraged to join the family there. Patrice also requested that in lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation of any amount to the Women's Resource Center in Gulfport. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the McCraw family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep Mark and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
