Stanley Ray Waldrop, Jr., a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, in New Orleans, LA, at the age of 43. Born on May 11, 1981, in Marietta, GA, Stanley was known for his loving nature, kind heart, and humorous spirit that brought joy to all who knew him. Stanley grew up in a close-knit family and was a beacon of light in their lives. He is survived by his father, Stanley Ray Waldrop, Sr., his mother, Mary Garner, his adoring sister, Tabitha Hamby, and his beloved brothers, Nathaniel (Dixi) Waldrop, Daniel Waldrop, and Jessie Waldrop. His life was enriched by the love of his uncles, Jeptha (Stacy) Johnson, Bruce Swanson and Ike Johnson: his aunts, aunts, Pamela (Bill) Jones, Susan (David) Pickens, Linda Edwards and Kelly Longdin and his grandmother, Betty Johnson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Stanley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Newt and Eunice Waldrop, and grandfather, Isaac Johnson, who have welcomed him with open arms in their eternal home. As a man of many talents, Stanley was known as a jack-of-all-trades. His ability to fix and build anything was unmatched, and his skills were greatly valued at the shipyard where he worked. Colleagues and friends often sought his expertise, and he always lent a helping hand with a smile on his face. Stanley's passion for the outdoors was evident to all. He was happiest when he was hunting and fishing, activities that brought him peace and contentment. His love for the water was profound; he cherished every moment spent on his boat, feeling the breeze and soaking in the sun. The beach was his sanctuary, a place where he could relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Stanley will remember him as a loving soul who made the world a brighter place. His kindness extended not only to his family and friends but to everyone he encountered. His sense of humor was infectious, often bringing laughter and lightness to any situation. Stanley's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his generosity and warmth. He will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune to cross paths with him. As we say goodbye to Stanley, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
