Shirley Ann White

November 30, 1946 — November 30, 2021

Shirley H. White, 74, of Pearlington, Mississippi passed peacefully at Canon Hospice in Gulfport, Mississippi on April 20, 2022. She was a loving mother and wife of Jerry Wayne White for the past 58 years. They had four children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Shirley was born in Beebe, Arkansas on December 15, 1947 to Clara Mae Raines Henson and William Alfred Henson. She was the youngest of their nine children.

In her young life, even though only five feet tall, she was a starting basketball player at McRae High School and was known for her good sportmanship. She was really shy and quiet, but was the sweetest person you would ever meet. She was an excellent pool shooter and was even invited to compete in a Las Vegas tournament. She enjoyed spending time visiting with friends and family. In the past several years you could often find her and Jerry at the local casinos. She was pretty lucky. Jerry called her his lucky charm, especially after she won a Tesla from the Silver Slipper Casino.

Shirley was a Christian and would give her testimony to anyone who would listen. She was a firm believer in God’s plan for her life. She believed everything in her life was provided by Him. This belief was passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Lee White, her parents, and six siblings. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Wayne White of Pearlington, Mississippi; her children, Jerry Wayne White Jr and spouse Elizabeth Beddow of Forney, Texas; Kenneth Allen White of Pearl River, Louisiana; and Tina Patrice White Fisher and spouse Dwayne Fisher of Denham Springs, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Paige White, Jaclyn White Devall and spouse Zack Devall, Bridget Fisher, Dwayne “Joey” Fisher II, Hayden Fisher, and Megan White; and her great-grandchildren, Jaycen Smith, Anthony Fiero, Jolie Wedge-Fisher, Harper Devall, and Hadley Devall.

Due to her sudden illness and extensive medical expenses, the family is requesting donations in lieu of flowers. Donations may be made by Venmo to @Tina-Fisher-mom or through Facebook pay to Tina White Fisher or directly through the Trinity website. All donations will go toward medical and final expenses.

A beachside Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held in June. Details will be announced at a later date.

Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the White family in their time of need, and asks everyone to remember them in your thoughts and prayers over this difficult time.
