Sheila Marie (Hagood) Barras

Sheila Marie Barras, 66 of Saucier, passed away June 22nd at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport. She was born September 15, 1954, to Elbert and Mary West Hagood. She is preceded death by her parents; her brothers, Ben Hagood and Jimmy Waltman; her sisters, infant Betty Jean and Betty Kennedy. Sheila leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Jerry Barras; daughters, Gidget Barras and Jackie (Brian Cox); grandchildren, Travis (Candi), Kirsten and Nolan; great grands, Ethan, Jaxsen, Anna and Tripp; brothers, sisters and in laws, Bubba and Betty Hagood, Richard and Joan Hagood, Kenny and Renee Hagood, Betty Joe Hagood, Bill and Patricia Hagood, Kay and JC Cowan, Judy and Joel Meadows, Frances and Albert Waltman, Ruth and Rena Hall, Dee and Ozzy Bond, Freddie and Cindy Waltman, Martha Waltman, Charles Waltman and Sandra and Mitch Vause; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sheila was the matriarch of her family. There are many things that she will be remembered for; cooking cabbage, sewing clown outfits and having a romance novel in her face but above all she will be remembered for being a great friend not only to her husband of 49 years but everyone around her.  She seemed to have a way of spoiling each person in the exact way they needed it.  Sheila was kind and gentle having an overall beauty that could been seen both inside and out.  She had a special bond with her daughters. They always knew that mom was there for them supporting all their endeavors. Sheila was greatly loved and will be forever missed. A graveside service will be held at 4 pm on Monday, June 28th at Finley Cemetery.
