Mrs. Sharon Lee Marlin

June 7, 1940 — January 13, 2019

Mrs. Sharon Lee (Cartwright) Marlin, 78 of Gulfport, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Memorial Hospital. She was born June 7, 1940 in Pasadena, CA., the daughter of Charles and Lola Cartwright. She grew up in Arcadia, CA, and was a caring lady. She had a servant heart, always doing for others before herself. She would sit with and care for the elderly and others as needed. Sharon was preceded by her parents, and her daughter, Denise Ortal-Balliabe of Miliani, HI. She loved to ride her ATV at Wild Wash Road in Helendale, CA, and camping at Twin Lakes in Bridgeport, CA. But she loved the coastal shores of Gulfport, MS most of all. Later in life, she learned to knit, quilt, and cross stitch. Sharon was a huge NASCAR fan as well, but would often fall asleep before the race ended. A beloved wife, and dedicated mother, she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Sharon is survived by her husband, Leonard Marlin of Gulfport; daughters Barbara (James) Kermode of Payson, AZ, Lori (Ray) Karle of Canyon Country, CA, and Sandra Dusenberry of Ocean Springs, MS; her son-in-law, Rudy Billaibe of Miliani, HI; four grandchildren: Robert (Ashley) Karle, Noah and Emma Billaibe, and Tyler Dusenberry; one brother, Albert Cartwright of IL; her sister-in-law, Sandy (Marshall) Hausner of Las Vegas, NV; a niece, Diana (Cory) Moon; her cousin Kathy Perrine of Albany, OR, and her best friend from age 5, Linda (Frank) Andrade of Claremont, CA. Sharon wanted her grandchildren to know that "even though we were miles apart, you were never far from my heart". Her final wishes were to be cremated without fanfare, which her family is honoring. Sharon wanted her memory to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. And to all she leaves to cherish her memories, "Later Gator!" Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Marlin family, and asks that you keep Leonard and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
