Scott Dwayne Harrison

November 14, 1958 — February 13, 2025

Gulfport

Scott Dwayne Harrison, age 66 and resident of Gulfport, MS, passed away on February 13, 2025, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Scott was born on November 14, 1958, in Pascagoula, MS, one of four children to Jessie & Jeanette (Strickland) Harrison.

Scott grew up in Wiggins, MS and graduated from Stone High School in 1976. He lived for a while in Morgan City, LA, where he learned his trade of home building, eventually owning his own company. His real talent was cabinet making and the ability to build something just by sight alone. After settling back in Gulfport he had many loyal customers for his cabinet making skills and beyond. If you knew Scott, you knew he did life his way. He loved to make wood products as much as he loved to sit at the poker table with his friends. He was also a great piano player.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Tambrey Harrison Scruggs, grandparents Walter & Hilda (Ladner) Harrison, and Amos & Effie (Sellers) Strickland, and a stepson Thomas L. Dickerson III. He leaves behind his wife, Dora (Muller) Harrison, his daughters Lisa and Dawn, his brothers Rhett Harrison and Chett (Kim) Harrison, step-grandchildren Tanya and Damian Dickerson, friends Bobby Lovett, JR Walsh, Billy Carr, Jesse Vincent, George & Nathan Bodie, Rusty Sheffield, Pete Weber, the employees of the Imperial Palace Casino, & his nieces and nephews.

The family has planned a memorial interment service for Scott at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, MS on February 18, 2025 at 2 PM. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wall, Dr. Jimmy Stewart (First Baptist Gulfport) and the wonderful angel who welcomed him at Saint Joseph Hospice in Gulfport.

Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Harrison family in their time of need and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
