Sabrena Louise (Reid) Knight

July 22, 1975 — January 28, 2025

Perkinston

Sabrena Louise Knight, 49 of the Silver Run community, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1975 in Lumberton, the daughter of Lesley and Margi Reid. Sabrena, or "Brenie" as she was affectionately known, grew up in the Poplarville area where she was into most everything. She loved to swim, spent lots of time with her grandparents, Alvin and Lena Reid, mostly because Pawpaw would always let her drive. She loved softball and played with the Poplarville Athletic Assoc. for several years. Thanks to her brothers, she could hit the ball pretty well, smacking many home runs in her time on the diamond. Brenie graduated from Poplarville High School with the Class of 1993, and went on to Pearl River Jr. College where she obtained her Associate Degree of Nursing. Brenie loved caring for others so nursing was just her thing. She worked at Pearl River Community Hospital for several years until her own medical issues forced her early retirement. She is lovingly remembered as a dedicated, loving daughter, wife, and mother. Brenie could tell the funniest stories, and her giggle will always be remembered. A country girl from the start, she absolutely loved to fish, even enjoying the occasional trip to the coast for a little crabbing. Brenie enjoyed travelling, especially to the mountains, and all the decorations at Christmas were her favorite. To relax, she could watch hours of crime documentaries or a few episodes of Law & Order, or just curl up with a good book. Though she departs this life far too soon, her memories will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her. Brenie was preceded by her grandparents, Alvin and Lena Reid, her father Lesley Reid, and her brother Joseph Reid. Left to cherish her memories are: her only son, Joey Knight, and her former husband, Eric Knight, both of Poplarville; her loving mother Margi (Jimbo) Hester of Silver Run; brothers Thomas (Monica) Reid and Wesley Hester, and sisters Rachel (Jason) Maxey, Tiffany (Anthony) Bertrand, and Nataleigh Hester; along with her former mother-in-law Barbara Ladner, plus numerous extended family members, friends, and co-workers through the years. Services will be held Friday, January 31st at Silver Run Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00, with Pastor Ryan Swilley officiating. Following the service, Brenie will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Poplarville. In lieu of floral arrangements, please consider making a donation to help the family cover funeral and related expenses, which they were not prepared for. No donation is too small, and all will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made electronically by clicking the "Donations" tab at the top of this page, to any member of the family, or directly at our office if you wish. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Knight family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
