Mr. Ronnie Lee Taylor

December 11, 1949 — January 14, 2019

Mr. Ronnie L. Taylor, 69 of Perkinston, passed away early Monday morning in Hattiesburg. Ronnie was born December 11, 1949, the 3rd of 5 children to Albert & Betty Jean (Roberts) Taylor. He grew up mostly in Buckatunna, but also spent some time in Texas as well. From an early age, Ronnie is described as a prankster who loved a good joke. After he finished high school, he was drafted into the US Army where he served honorably, including a tour in Vietnam in 1970. Ronnie always enjoyed the outdoors and being in the woods, so following his military service, he started working as a driver in the logging industry. He began with Miller Timber, and later settled in at James Tubbs Logging. His cb handle was "Superdog", and there are many who only knew him as that. Ronnie loved to ride around and just "piddle" as they say. His sisters claim that he was "spoiled rotten", and always had to be the center of attention. Ronnie enjoyed visiting his sisters in Buckatunna, and spoiling his grandbabies. A loving brother, father, and grandfather, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Albert & Betty Jean Taylor, and a sister, Janie Pigman. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Frinda; his children: daughters Amanda (Richard) Parker and Cindy (Darrell) Whittington, and his son, Dale Taylor; step-children: Chris, Heather, and Candace Smith; his sisters, Mary Jane (Richard) Risen, Bess (Ralph) Gardner, and Shirley (Gary) Sullivan; five grandchildren: Emily Taylor, Dana & Natalie Whittington, and Kristopher & Bryson Parker, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends. Servivces will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 at Ten Mile Baptist Church where he was a member. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with the funeral service set for 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Dedeaux Family Cemetery in Silver Run. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Taylor family in their time of need, and asks that everyone keep them in your prayer over the coming days.
