Ronnie Smith

Ronnie Lee Smith was born on March 19, 1954, and passed away at the age of 70 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS on July 11, 2024. Ronnie worked as a welder his whole working life and met many friends along the way. He was an avid outdoorsman up until he started losing his eyesight. He loved to hunt and fish and taught his sons, nieces, and nephews about the outdoors. He loved his family with everything in him. Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Smith, and his mother, Betty Smith. His is survived by his wife, Thelma Smith, his two sons, Kenneth Smith and Marcus Smith (Donna), his sisters, Kathy Green (Mike) and Cindy Etheridge, and one brother, Mike Smith. He had three grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Destiny Collins (John), and Santanna Ricketson (Dalton), and three great-grandchildren, Gabe Walker, Sawyer Maskew, and Lakelynn Ricketson. Ronnie has eleven nieces and nephews, twenty-six great nieces and nephews, and three great great's that he loved as his own. He enjoyed spending time with his family and made memories to last a lifetime. Ronnie was a great husband, father, uncle, brother, son, and papaw to them all. Services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena. The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and food.
