Rolanda Kay "Lannie" Larive, aged 72, passed away on January 2, 2025, in Wiggins, Mississippi, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 18, 1952, in Red Field, South Dakota, to parents Roland and Blanch Wieting, Lannie was a vibrant soul whose creativity and love enriched the lives of all who knew her. A student of Woonsocket High School, Lannie was the epitome of a renaissance woman, seamlessly flowing from one adventure to the next. Her journey saw her excel in a myriad of roles, including bartending, operating a daycare, and contributing her skills to a puppet factory. Yet, her most cherished occupation was the loving home she created for her family. An avid hobbyist, Lannie found joy in crocheting, sewing, immersed in books, and revealing solutions to puzzles. Her creative essence was a thread woven throughout her life's work and interests, leaving a vibrant imprint on the hearts of all who loved her. Lannie will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a woman of creativity and heart. Her story is one of love, laughter, and an enduring zest for life that will continue to inspire generations to come. Preceding her in death were her adored husband, George Larive, her parents Roland and Blanch Wieting, her first husband, William Charles Nelson, and her cherished daughter, Heather Sandness. Lannie's indomitable spirit lives on through her children, James William Nelson (Melissa), Craig Charles Nelson (Melissa), Tammie Sears, Karin Sandness, and Aaron Sandness. Her legacy also includes a beautiful tapestry of 13 step-children, 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
