Mr. Robert Hays Wiltshire

Mr. Robert Hays Wiltshire, 64 of Lumberton, passed away Saturday in Hattiesburg. Robert was the baby of 4 children to Brown and Geneva (Campbell) Wiltshire. He grew up in Carrolton, MS, and was mechanically incline from a young age. He loved to tinker with and fix things. He enjoyed walking, loved to fish, and would often go watch animals, but never killed one. Robert was intellectually gifted, and skipped the 11th grade. After his early graduation, he enlisted in the US Army, serving for four years. Following his discharge, he attended business school in Dallas, TX, and worked in insurance for a while. He met Diana Sue Holston in Hattiesburg in 1986, and it was truly love at first sight. He convinced her to marry him, and they had been together since, making their home in Lumberton. He is remembered as a kind-hearted, soft-spoken man. An adoring husband, loving father and "Papa" to his grandchildren, he will be sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Robert was preceded by his parents, and a brother, Marshall Wiltshire. Left to cheris his memories are his loving wife, Diana Sue (Holston) Wiltshire; their children, a daughter, Candace (Zack) Cobb of Hattiesburg, and sons, Robert H. "Beau" Wiltshire of NC, and Stephen "Brad" Gray of Hattiesburg; his siblings: a brother, Homer (Carlene) Wiltshire, and a sister, Gertrude French, both of TN; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7th at Trinity Funeral Services in Lumberton. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday morning, followed by interment in the Lee-Ladner Cemetery by Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
