Robert Anthony "Tony" Gooden

November 30, 1974 — June 21, 2023

Gautier

Robert Anthony Gooden, 48, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2023 at his home in Gautier. He was born on November 30, 1974 in Laurel, MS., the second of two boys to Butch and Carol (Cuevas) Gooden. Known as Tony by those closest to him, he grew up in Saucier enjoying the country life, playing baseball, and riding motorcycles. Tony attended Harrison County Schools, deciding to get his GED and go to work. He worked at a couple different places before moving into heavy equipment operation, and has done so since. Tony worked for Mallett Bros. and Huey P. Stockstill as a loader operator for the past several years. Though Tony had his struggles in life, he is remembered as a loving brother, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed time with his family, doing things like cooking out, boating and other activities. But by all accounts, his most favorite thing to do...was eat. A good, medium steak or some seafood on the table and Tony was a happy guy. He also enjoyed bowling and watching movies as well. He leaves us much too soon and will be sorely missed by all whose life he touched. Tony was preceded by his parents, Butch and Carol Gooden, his only brother, Danny Gooden, and a granddaughter, Kinsley Gerald. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife Louise; their bonus children: daughters Lyla Christensen and Ashton Gerald of Gautier, his son Zach Gooden of Monroe, LA, and her daughters: Ashley Gerald, Jasmine Weathers, and Brandi (Brandon) Lovett, all of Gulfport. He leaves a legacy of eight grandchildren, including Skylar and Taylor Williams, Colston and Brayden Gerald, and Autumn and Abbi Lovett, along with numerous extended family and friends. Services are scheduled for Monday, June 26th at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11, with Pastor Stephen DeFazio officiating. Afterward, Tony will be laid to rest in the Johnson-Bethel Cemetery in Saucier. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Gooden family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
