Robert Leon Matula

Robert “Bo” Leon Matula, age 47, of Saucier, MS, left this life surrounded by his loving family and the love of his life and childhood sweetheart Vickie Lynn Wedgeworth. Robert was born August 6, 1977, in Gulfport, MS to the late Robert Leopard Matula and Rita Gay White Matula. He attended Harrison County Schools. He came from a heritage of brick masons, and he repeated that over his lifetime. He also loved lawncare, landscaping, carpentry and working the small farm he shared with Vickie and Gracelynn, Gracelynn’s Heritage Farm. Robert was high energy and a very hard-working man’s man. He loved and adored his family, and he did not define family as blood only. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert “Big Robert” Leopard Matula; paternal grandfather Ludvik John (Bob) Matula Sr.; paternal grandmother Annie Theresa Hruzek Matula; maternal grandfather Orville Lee White and adopted grandfather Gene Darr (brick mason), and maternal grandmother Leta Frances Hayes White Darr; and Vickie’s daughter he loving claimed as his own, Victoria Lee Hutcherson. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and fiancé, Vickie Lynn Wedgeworth; his mother Rita Gay White Matula, Gulfport, MS; his son, Robert Wayne Pittman, Saucier, MS and grandson Henry Joseph Pittman; two sisters, Gina Ditmore, Atlanta, GA; Leta Matula Gonzalez (Luis), Newport, TN; a brother Scott Ditmore; a plethora of loving cousins, aunts, uncles and all of the children he took as his very own to love and care for, James Kneiss (Caitlin Mary and granddaughter Raelynn Kneiss), Kayla Rose Roecklein, Tyler Kneiss, Miles Kneiss, Amber Lynn Boyd (and grandson Maddox Boyd), and Gracelynn Vick. Trinity Funeral Services is in care of Robert’s final wishes and the family will have a Celebration of Life for Robert on Gracelynn’s Heritage Farm, 16040 F. Taylor Rd., Saucier, MS 39574 on August 24, 2024, from 2 pm-6 pm. The family asks that if you would like to come and be with us to celebrate Robert, please bring a covered dish, chairs (enough for your attending guests) and non-alcoholic beverages.
