Robert Clifton Luckett, 55 of Jackson, passed away on August 15th at University Medical Center. He was born on January 23, 1967 in Jackson, the only child to Billy Griffin and Peggy (Shearer) Luckett. Robert's mother passed away when he was very young, and his father remarried Carol Cooper Luckett, who raised him and his sister, Sharon. He grew up in the Jackson area and enjoyed playing tennis and video games. He attended Jim Hill High School, graduating with Class of 1985, and went on to the University of Southern Mississippi. Robert graduated with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, and joined the US Army in 1990. He was honorably discharged after two years of service, and later became disabled. Robert had a great sense of humor, and continued to tinker with computers and video games. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Billy and Peggy Luckett, and his younger brother Jerry Luckett. Robert is survived by: his step-mothers, Carol Holland of Clinton and Nelda Luckett of Jackson; one sister, Sharon (Lonnie) Robinson, also of Clinton, along with numerous extended family and friends. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with interment in a National Cemetery at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Luckett family in their time of need, and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
