Mr. Robert Joe Hendrix

Mr. Robert Joe Hendrix, 58 of the Silver Run community, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Sunday afternoon. Robert was born the 2nd of 5 children to Eli John and Myrtis L. Hendrix, on September 3, 1958 in Gulfport, MS. The family moved back and forth between the West Coast and South MS due to work, but he primarily grew up in the Silver Run community. He learned to enjoy what most young boys do in the South, hunting, fishing, waterskiing, and other outdoor things. He also enjoyed racing, and along with that, the affinity to work on and repair things, so he made a career as a mechanic. He worked for several trucking companies, and even founded Hendrix Trucking several years ago. Robert loved life, and spending it with his family and friends. He often told his kids that "we may not have a lot of money, but we will have lots of fun!". He will be remembered as a true friend, a man who was loyal and devoted, and an exceptional mechanic. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. Robert is survived by his fiancé, Shirley "Bird" Hughes; two sons, Robby Hendrix (Frances) of Wiggins, and Chris Hendrix (Tiffany) of Silver Run; his sisters, Wanda Cloward and Vickie Martin (Tim), both of Wiggins, and Judy Vance (Duane) of McDonaugh, GA; brothers Norman and Elroy Hendrix, both of Silver Run; grandchildren Timothy, Brittney, Nathan, Natalie, Matthew, and Makenzie Hendrix, and Asher Cox, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli J. and Myrtis Hendrix. The family has set funeral services, beginning with a visitation on Friday, February 3, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Trinity Funeral Services' McHenry location. Visitation will continue on Saturday at 9:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM in the chapel at Trinity. Following the services, Robert will be interred in the Hester Cemetery in Silver Run. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the Hendrix family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers through such a difficult time.
