Mr. Robert Kendall Burleson Jr

Mr. Robert Kendall Burleson, Jr., 66, passed away last week at his home in Gulfport. Robert, or "Bob" as he was known by those closest to him, was born October 5, 1952 in Poplarville, the 2nd of 4 children to Addie (Smith) and Robert Burleson, Sr. He grew up in Gulfport, and from an early age, enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. Bob was reserved and bashful to an extent, more the quiet type than anything. After school, he worked on tug boats for several years, and later worked as an electrician. He is remembered as a loving father and grandfather, brother, and a fantastic handy-man for his sisters. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Robert K. and Addie (Smith) Burleson, Sr., and one sister, Roney Paula Smith. Left to cherish his memories are: his only son, Robert Bernard "Sloane" Burleson (Tonia Ashley) of Martinsville, MS; his sisters, Judy (Audie) Spiers and Deborah Ann Holston, both of Steep Hollow; grandchildren Karlie D., Brayden Sloane, and Robert Slate Burleson, all of Martinsville; his four-pawed son "Jake", along with numerous extended family, neighbors, and friends. Graveside services are set for 11:30 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Smith Family Cemetery on Barth Road in Steep Hollow. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Burleson family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them lifted up in your prayers over the coming days.
