Robert Glynn Bailey, 72 and known to most everyone as Glynn, passed away peacefully Monday, November 18, 2024, at his home in Wiggins. He was born on October 26, 1952, in Memphis, TN., one of five children to Issac and Francis Bailey. Glynn was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Glynn's early years were spent in the halls of Abramson High School in New Orleans East, where he not only received his education but also began to shape the values of hard work and dedication that he would carry throughout his life. After graduation, Glynn embarked on a career with Coastal Paper, where he became a respected employee, known for his friendly demeanor and his commitment to his work. His colleagues remember him as a man who always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share. Outside of his professional life, Glynn was a man of the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to immerse himself in the beauty of nature and the tranquility it brought to his life. These moments of solitude were only matched by the joy he found in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Glynn also devoted lots of his time over the years to youth athletics, coaching Little League baseball and peewee football. Glynn was preceded by his parents, Isaac and Francis Bailey, his sister Evelyn White, and his brother James Bailey. His legacy is carried on through his loving family that survives him: his devoted wife, Susan, with whom he shared a life full of laughter and love; his children: son Josh (Jody) Bailey of Tuttle, OK, and his daughter, Lauren Bailey of Perkinston, MS, with his bonus children: Joseph (Kristy) Gonzales of St. Martin, Lisa (Robbie) Clutts of Virginia, and Michelle Gonzalez of Wiggins. Glynn leaves a legacy of fifteen grandchildren: grands - Brittany, Elizabeth, Josh Jr., Blakeney, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Logan, Ruby, Rebecca, and Brandon, and great-grands Harper, Maggie, Mylah, Alana, and Mateo, along with numerous extended family and countless friends. They all will forever remember their father and grandfather as a pillar of love and kindness. Glynn was a role model to his children, teaching them the importance of compassion and friendliness through his actions and the way he lived his life every day. Those who knew Glynn would describe him as loving, kind, and friendly. He was a Christian man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand and whose presence could light up a room. His heart was as vast as the great outdoors he so cherished, and his spirit was as gentle as the waters he navigated with his fishing rod in hand. As we say goodbye to Glynn, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man dearly loved. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his influence will be felt for generations to come. Glynn's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the stories of his kindness, love, laughter, and friendship will endure forever. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 21st at New Covenant Assembly of God, which Glynn helped to establish and build many years ago. Fellowship begins at 5pm and everyone is encouraged to come support the family. A sanctuary service begins at 6pm, with Bros. Lamar Burkholder and Donnie Havard officiating. Glynn will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we reflect on his life, we take comfort in knowing that Glynn is now at peace, leaving behind a legacy of love that will always be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Bailey family in their time of need and asks that everyone remember them in your prayers over this trying time.
