Ricky Dale Davis, Sr.

Ricky Dale Davis, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, in Gulfport, MS. Born on May 22, 1955, in Forrest City, MS. He was a 1974 graduate of Hancock North Central High School, where he showcased some of his talents on the basketball court. His love for the open road was evident in his long career as a truck driver, a job he performed with dedication and joy. He found solace in the tranquility of fishing with his sons, a pastime that brought him immense happiness. An enthusiast of classic cinema, Ricky cherished the times spent watching old westerns starring John Wayne and gripping old war movies. Known for his dry sense of humor, Ricky had a playful spirit, often teasing loved ones and affectionately squeezing their cheeks. His fondness for fried chicken paired with an ice-cold Coke was unmatched. Ricky's warm presence and hearty laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ricky is preceded by his parents, Walter Alonzo Davis and Alice Ray (Jones) Craker; brother, Glen Davis; sister, Dawn Ladner Graham. Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Rick (Tonya) Davis, Jr. and Rusty (Tara) Davis; grandchildren, Haley (Josh) Shiyou, Loren Davis, Brody Ladner, Kaleb Davis, Keaton Davis, Destaney (Thatcher) Lee, Caleb (Casey) Morgan, Shelby (Katie) Morgan, Sydney (Quentin) McKeown; great grandchildren, Kaiden Shiyou, Westyn Shiyou, Aybri Lee, Jennings Lee, Riley Morgan, Addy Morgan; siblings, Delores (Lonnie) Wood, Diane Hall, Timmy (Carrie) Ladner, Dawn Chisholm, Lynn (Moses) Hunt, Wally Davis, Andy Davis; step brother, Ken (Diane) Browman; step sister, Brenda (Moose) Eubanks; sister-in-law, Gay Davis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 2:00PM-4:00PM. A private burial will take place at Rotten Bayou at a later date.
