Richard James Puglise, a dedicated public servant, devoted family man, and passionate craftsman, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Saucier, Mississippi. Born on September 5, 1945, Richard's life was marked by service, both to his country and to those closest to him, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, warmth, and playfulness.

Richard proudly dedicated 20 years of his life to the United States Air Force, serving his country with honor and distinction. After his military service, he continued his commitment to his community as a fireman for several years. During these times, whether responding to emergencies or supporting his loved ones, Richard's dedication and caring nature shone through. Beyond his public duties, Richard operated a lawn mower repair shop, where he found joy in fixing and tinkering with small engines – a passion that reflected his practical skills and love for problem-solving.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Richard pursued further education after retirement, earning an associate degree in applied computer science. This achievement underscored his lifelong curiosity and eagerness to learn, traits that endeared him to friends and family alike. Known for his playful spirit and love of fun, Richard’s laughter and cheerful demeanor were a constant source of light for those around him.

Richard is survived by his siblings Joseph (Donna) Puglise and Jackie (Mark) Stemple; beloved sons, Ricky Puglise, who shares a life with Roxann, and Jeff Puglise. His legacy carries on through six cherished grandchildren: Michelle Mouring, together with Kevin; Rachel Nawrot, with Tyler; Roxy Porter, alongside David; and Persefanie, Jeffrey, and David Puglise. Additionally, Richard was a proud great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren, as well as a treasured uncle to several nieces, nephews, and an extended family who all held him in high regard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gacamino and Mary Puglise, as well as his wife of over forty years, Susie Puglise, whose memories he carried faithfully throughout his life.

Richard James Puglise's life story is one of service, family, hard work, and a joyous spirit. His contributions to his country and community, his dedication to his family, and his playful nature will be remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Puglise family in their time of need and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
