Richard Henry Fouquet, Sr., 76 of McHenry, passed away December 04, 2023 in Diamondhead, MS. He was born January 10, 1947 in the Crescent City, one of five total but three children to Louis Henry, Sr. and Bonita Shirley (LeBlanc) Fouquet. Richard grew up in Gretna where he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything else that came with the outdoor life. He learned autobody repair, working in shops and later attending trade school, eventually becoming the co-owner of Autocraft. When he wasn't pulling dents or painting vehicles, Richard was also a commercial fisherman with his own boat, turning his top hobby into a business as well. That was Richard, a hard-working entrepreneur from the start. He is fondly remembered as a loving son, brother and father. He had the biggest heart of all, ever willing to help in any way he could, and always there when you needed him. In his life, Richard had an incredible work ethic, always working 8 - 25 hour days a week and more if needed. He did not believe in stopping until the job was done. When he wasn't working, he still loved to be on the water, either fishing or just riding in the boat. Among his favorite things in life were the many family gatherings and cookouts, which he always enjoyed. He was definitely a "man's man" by all accounts and will be forever missed and loved by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his parents, Louis Fouquet, Sr. and Bonita Fouquet Hunter, his brother Curtis Fouquet; his cousin Buddy Trosclaire; his first wife, Linda Breaux Fouquet, his second wife, Nancy Edgar Fouquet, and the third and most recent, Jody Fouquet. Left to cherish his memories are: his sons Richard (Kim) Fouquet, Jr. of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Brian (Tiffany) Fouquet of Bay St. Louis, and Cody (Amber) Fouquet of Saucier; his only sister, Louann (Ben) Dugas of Gretna, with brothers Keith (Stephanie) Hunter of Mandeville and Louis (Marsha) Fouquet, Jr. of Diamondhead; nephews Louis, III (Lan) Fouquet and Huey Fouquet (April), with close cousins Whitney Trosclaire and JoLynn Stafford, and their mother Joann, and Vickilynn and Ronald Doss. Richard leaves a legacy of five grandchildren: Evan, Joseph, Aahden, and Elainah Fouquet, Sarina (Tommy) Stevens, with numerous extended family members and many friends. Richard's final wishes were to be cremated which his family is honoring, with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Fouquet family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
