Rhonda Lynn Taylor

Rhonda Holden Taylor, 59, of Kiln, Mississippi, passed away August 4, 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana, following injuries sustained in a tragic fall that resulted in a broken neck.

Rhonda was a woman with a heart as big as her smile. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether it was lending a hand, offering words of encouragement, or simply being there for those she loved, Rhonda's generous spirit touched countless lives. She was hardworking, selfless, and devoted to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She spent many years as a volunteer fire fighter in Hancock County. She was a current APA pool player and loved going to auctions.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Rhonda was of the Catholic faith and found strength in her love for God and her family. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and JoAnn Cuevas Holden; her unborn daughter, Veronica Prestenbach; her unborn grandchild Riley Mayeux; and her beloved brothers, Bruce Holden and Anthony Holden.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Frank Taylor of Kiln, Mississippi; her daughter, Shalane (Paul) Mayeux of Westwego, Louisiana; her sons, Dalane

(Leslie) Prestenbach of Picayune, Mississippi, and Earnest (Whitney) Fontenot of Kiln, Mississippi; her bonus son Patrick Shoup Jr. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, James Shaneyfelt Jr., Selena (Jayjay) Shaneyfelt, Theresa Mayeux, Cora Mayeux, Harrison (Destiny) Moran II, Alivia (Russell) Moran, and Conner Fontenot; her treasured great-grandchildren, Felicity Moran and Harrison Moran Ill; her brothers, Mike Holden and Darwin Holden, both of Kiln, Mississippi; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

Rhonda's legacy is one of love, generosity, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, caring heart, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared and the lives she touched will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that her beautiful spirit will live on through the many lives she influenced with her kindness and unconditional love.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
