Mr. Rhett Owen Kilgore, 56 of McHenry, MS, passed away in Wiggins on Tuesday, December 20th. Rhett was born May 19, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama, to James Verdo and Doris Louise Kilgore. He grew up in and around Northern Alabama, and had to deal with the loss of his father, as well a sister, at an early age. After completing his GED, he served his country in the US Army, and then made a career a commercial driver. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, and a hard working, provider. From an early age, he has rooted for the Auburn Tigers, and will be remembered as an avid "War Eagle". Rhett is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Jennifer Christine "Chris" Kilgore; his children, one son, Brett Kilgore of Texas, and one daughter, Sairah Kilgore of Callera, AL; one brother, Del Kilgore (Kris), and his step-father, Charlie Alred, both of N. Alabama; and his three "furry" children, Rommel, Siggy, and Baby-Girl. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Verdo Kilgore and Doris Kilgore Alred, brothers Steve Kilgore, James V. Kilgore, Jr., and John Randall Kilgore, and one sister. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 23rd, beginning at 3:00 PM at Trinity Funeral Services main chapel in McHenry, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM. He will be interred at McHenry Gardens Cemetery in a private ceremony at a later time. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family at such a difficult time.
