Saucier

Rayford Odell Lumpkin, IV, 26 of Wiggins, passed away November 8th, 2022 in Wiggins. Rayford was born on January 30, 1996 in Gulfport, the oldest of two children to Rayford Odell, III and Gloria Ann (Ellis) Lumpkin, III. He grew up in Carnes where he loved to hunt and fish. Ray was straight country and stayed in the woods or somewhere with a hook in the water. He also enjoyed sports, playing football for FCAHS, where he attended until the 11th grade. After high school, Ray went to work at Hood in Wiggins and did several things there. He did all he could to provide for his kids. He is remembered as a very loving person that cared about his family and friends more than anything. Ray had a thing for kids, and loved his and all his nieces and nephews. In his spare time, Ray loved riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, throwing the football with his brother, or somewhere outside. He wasn't one to be cooped up in the house. He had an outgoing personality and could talk to anyone, especially older folks. A trip to the store with him was never quick because Ray was gonna talk to several folks along the way. He will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved him. Preceded by his great-grandfather, Rayford Lumpkin; great-grandmother, Ruby Lumpkin; and grandfathers, Andy Ellis and Ray Lumpkin, Jr. Rayford is survived by his children, Adalynn Lumpkin, Remington Lumpkin, Ryver Lumpkin; a very special niece, Maddy Mae (Madalynn) Creel, parents, Gloria and Rayford Lumpkin, III; brother, Samuel Lumpkin; niece, Winter Lumpkin; grandmother, Ana Vance; two uncles, Samuel Lumpkin and A.J. (Alicia) Ellis; aunts, Christina (Terrance) Ladner, Jackie Ellis, and Valerie Ellis. Friends and family will be received at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry on Friday, November 11th. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 2:00 PM with Bro. Tommy Jones officiating. Afterward, Ray will be laid to rest in the Bounds Cemetery in Carnes. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lumpkin family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
