Randy Ramsey

Randy Ramsey, a beloved member of the Wiggins,MS community, passed away on June 2, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on March 1, 1960, in Mississippi, Randy lived a life full of love, laughter, and resilience that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Randy dedicated a significant portion of his life to his work with Burford Smith Tree Services. Even when faced with the challenges of disability that eventually made it impossible for him to continue in his role, Randy’s spirit remained unyielding. Known affectionately by many as "Goofy," his cheerful personality and unwavering determination were hallmarks of his character. He was a widely recognized and cherished figure throughout Stone County, not allowing his disability to define or limit him.

He was often described as a busy body, always active and willing to lend a hand. Randy took pride in helping with lawn care, keeping vehicles immaculate, and providing companionship and support to friends during hospital stays. His kindness and dedication to those around him exemplify the compassionate man he was.

Randy was truly blessed with 66 years of life, during which he lived fully, loved deeply, and shared countless days of laughter. His legacy is one of strength, warmth, and an enduring community spirit.

He was born to the late Mr. Curlee Sr. and Mozell Ramsey. He is also preceded in death by brothers Larry Ramsey, Curlee Ramsey Jr., and Phillip Jerome Ramsey; brother-in-law Bobby Hicks; sister-in-law Elnora Ramsey; and nephew Kenneth Theodore, Jr.

Randy is survived by his sisters Bobbie Grady, Mary (George) Fairley, Aylesa Kelley, and Teresa (Michael) Robbinson, along with his brother Robert (Kathy) Ramsey. He is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces and nephews spanning three generations, as well as a wide circle of cousins and friends.

A memorial service honoring Randy’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Men of God Outreach Church, located at 621 First Street, Wiggins, Mississippi 39577. This service will be a time for family, friends, and community members to celebrate Randy’s remarkable journey and the impact he had on so many lives.

Randy Ramsey’s life story is one of courage, love, and service—a testament to the strength found in kindness and the power of a joyful spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
