Peggy Joy Clark, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully from natural causes at the age of 87 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born on January 1st, 1936, in Mobile, Alabama, to Albert and Lucille Innerarity, Peggy was an accomplished homemaker, substitute school teacher, and creative soul who brought joy and warmth to the lives of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Clark, with whom she shared a life full of love and laughter. She also was preceded by her parents and a son, Jamie Clark.

She is survived by two sons Daniel (Susan) Clark and David (Bettye) Clark, seven grandchildren: Amanda (Josh) Phillips, Benjamin (Micayla) Clark, Carolyn Clark (Kris Reclusado), Justin Clark (Amber Barton), Kathryn (Daniel) Johnson, Lauren Michelle (Will) Fauquier, and Morgan Clark (Jay Watts). Plus her six great grandchildren: Carson Phillips, David Clark, Declan Johnson, Eli Fauquier, Evie Fauquier, and Jackson Phillips. In addition to her immediate family, Peggy is survived by her sister, Sue Crowe, and brother, V.E. Innerarity. Throughout her life, Peggy was a dedicated homemaker. She regularly maintained a large garden and worked to preserve food for the family through canning and freezing. This work was continued in her later years through her work in the local extension office. Peggy also worked as a substitute teacher, an assistant teacher, and in the cafeteria in the Harrison County school system for several years. She loved working with the children there and had a special heart for children who were learning to read. Peggy’s creativity shone through her passion for sewing and quilting, as she crafted beautiful and intricate pieces that will be cherished by those who received them. Peggy's talent for turning fabric into art was admired by all who knew her. She was awarded best in show for several of her quilts in the Mississippi State Fair. Her creations will serve as a lasting testament to her skill and love for her craft. Peggy was a Christian by her faith and member at McHenry First Baptist Church, where she remained an active participant in Sunday service and the ladies’ Bible Study until her health prevented her from attending. Those who knew Peggy will remember her as a creative and loving individual. Her ability to bring beauty and joy to the lives of those around her was truly remarkable, and she will be fondly remembered for her warmth, wit, and unwavering love for her family. As we celebrate the life of Peggy Joy Clark, let us remember the countless ways she touched our lives and the lives of those around her. "If heaven is our home, what is earth but our place of exile? If departure from this world is entrance into life, what is this world but a grave? If being liberated from the body means laying hold of real freedom, what is the body but a prison? If the pinnacle of happiness consists in the enjoyment of God's presence, is it not misery to be without it? But until we escape this world, 'we are away from the Lord.' (2 Cor. 5:6)" - John Calvin
