Peggy Ann
Billingsley
Feb 12, 1935 — Aug 16, 2026
Wiggins
Peggy Ann Brodus Billingsley, 91, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at Azalea Gardens Nursing Center in Wiggins, Mississippi. She was born on February 12, 1935, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Howard and Maude Hudson Broadus.
Peggy was a strong, outgoing woman with a feisty spirit, a straightforward personality, and a heart that cared deeply for others. She was never afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her best knew there was truly no one quite like Peggy. She was fiercely devoted to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother who took great pride in the people she loved.
Peggy enjoyed the outdoors when she was younger and especially loved riding horses. She was always there to support her family, attending sporting events and cheering on her children and grandchildren. She had a great love for sports and enjoyed watching the NFL, MLB, and NBA. She attended football games at the Superdome in New Orleans during the days of Archie Manning and even had the opportunity to attend multiple Super Bowls and World Series games. She loved dogs, traveling, and, of course, her beloved gumbo and potato salad at Christmas.
Peggy was truly a unique woman—a hidden gem to those blessed enough to know her. Beneath her strong personality was a tender heart and a deep love for her family. She lived life on her own terms, loved fiercely, spoke honestly, and left an impression that will never be forgotten. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts and treasure the many stories, laughs, and moments they shared with her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Maude Broadus; brothers, Pat Broadus, Boots Broadus, Dennis Broadus, Cootise Broadus, and Duber Broadus; and her beloved son, Griffin Howard Billingsley.
She leaves behind her son, Billy (Darlene) Billingsley; grandson, Chad Billingsley; granddaughter, Casey (Adam Upchurch) Walker; great-grandchildren, Brandon Billingsley, Brooke Billingsley, Marissa Walker, and Trinity Upchurch; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Azalea Gardens Nursing Center and Becky Nichols for the love and care shown to Peggy.
Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Billingsley family during this time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
