Paulette (Neal) Campbell

June 16, 1947 — May 6, 2020

Purvis, MS

Paulette Neal Campbell, 72 of Purvis, joined her husband and other loved ones in heaven Wednesday evening at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Paulette was born June 16, 1947 in Columbia, the daughter and one of six children to C.F. & Louise (Blansett) Neal. She grew up in the Foxworth community on the family farm. Tending cows, pigs, chickens and the like, Paulette was a true Southern lady. She enjoyed cooking and reading and growing up close to the river, she loved to fish in her spare time. She graduated from West Marion High School in the mid 60's, moving on to Pearl River Community College with aspirations of teaching school herself. Somewhere in there, Paulette met a tall, good-lookin, very sweet man from Purvis, that promptly swept her off her feet...and so went the teaching career. Her and DC fell in love and were married, making their home in Purvis. Paulette went to work at Movie Star, spending 22 years there until it closed, then cooked at Adventist Health Care in Lumberton. You see, D.C. worked and provided the necessities, so Paultette worked to provide nicities and things the family wanted. That was just the kind of woman she was. Loving, sweet, hardworking, giving and caring were just a few of the words used to describe her. She loved and cared for her husband and family, every single day. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Paulette will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by: her parents; a sister Elaine and brother-in-law Robert Roache and brother Bill Neal; her oldest daughter, Suzanne Waltmon, and her loving husband of 53 years, D.C. Campbell, who passed just a week ago. Left to cherish her memories are: her daughter Sally (Paul) McKean of Purvis; four grandchildren: Brittney (Lee) Sylvester, Davy Chambliss, Cody Entrekin and Luke Waltmon; two great-grands: Beau Sylvester and Sterling Chambliss; siblings Gatsey (Tim) Foxworth of Foxworth, N.F. (Bonnie) Neal of Tylertown, Nell Kitazki of Lumberton and her sister-in-law, Pat Neal of Purvis, along with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors through the years. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 9th at Ephesus Primative Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service set for 10:30. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Campbell family once again in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
