Ms. Pamela Jo Rutland, 72 of Pascagoula, passed away Wednesday afternoon at The Plaza. Pam was the oldest of three children, born November 20, 1947 in McComb, MS to Calvin L. & Mary Jo (Sharp) Rutland. She grew up in several cities and towns while her father served in the US Navy. She was an active and outgoing young lady who was affectionate and talkative. Among her hobbies were crocheting, making many blankets and other items through the years that many have as keepsakes today. Pam was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and has been for a long time. She is remembered as a loving, caring, family woman that was surely set in her ways, but someone who always saw the good in others. Pam was baptized as a teenager at Ingall's Avenue Baptist Church, holding her Christian faith through her life. She loved her daughter and her son-in-law Les, but her grandkids were her treasures. Pam has battled her share of health issues over the past few years, but her family is rejoicing that she is resting comfortably today! She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pam was preceded by her parents, Calvin L. & Mary Jo Rutland. Left to cherish her memories are: her only child, daughter Dianna Jo (Les) Johnson of Pascagoula, with her chihuahua daughter "Sassy"; three grandchildren, Sarah, Sophia, and Charles Saltsgiver, several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Rutland family in their time of need, and asks everyone to keep the lifted up in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
