Owen Anderson Scott, Sr., 81 of Lafayette, passed May 26th at The Carpenter House. He was born September 21, 1939, in Paris, TX, the second of four children to William "Bill" and Nellie (Anderson) Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" and Nellie Scott; his beloved wife of many years, Dorthen "Dot" Scott, and his younger brother, Clinton Scott. Owen leaves behind to cherish his memories: his only son and daughter-in-law, Owen “Scotty” and Kirsten Scott, with his four grandchildren: Ava, Lyla, Nolan, and Winnie, all of MS; his brother and sister-in-law, Berry and Mary Scott of Pearland, TX; his sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Steve Nevins of Orlando, FL, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Owen was an uncomplicated man who loved his family immensely. If there was a lesson to be learned, it was to live life to the fullest with those you love. His son will hold dearly the memories of the time spent on the water fishing, around the world basketball played in the driveway and holidays spent in Paris, Texas. Owen was a son, brother, husband, father, and Poppa, but he was so much more to those that knew and loved him. He will be remembered for being a jokester and finding humor despite any circumstance, as well as an avid reader who enjoyed books on murder mysteries and government conspiracies. While his family mourns his passing, they take comfort in knowing he is back in the arms of those he loved who left this world before him. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Scott residence in Lafayette on June 25, 2021, between 12:30 and 5 pm, for those who would like to stop in to enjoy and share memories of Mr. Owen. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Scott family in their time of need, asking that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
